Persons with a Disability – Labor Force Characteristics 2022
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) recently published a summary of labor force, employment and unemployment data for people with disabilities during 2022. Based on the monthly Current Population Survey (CPS), Persons with a Disability – Labor Force Characteristics 2022, reveals that last year 21.3 percent of persons with a disability were employed, up from 19.1 percent in 2021, and that the unemployment rate for persons with a disability declined in 2022 but was still about double the rate for persons without a disability. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy sponsors the collection of disability data in the CPS.
