Recreation is not just about leisure; it is a fundamental aspect of human well-being and community cohesion. Inclusivity and accessibility in recreation are vital to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, can benefit from the physical, mental, and social advantages that recreation offers.
This webinar will showcase the benefits of having a recreational hobby, and [you will] hear from three different states about opportunities in their geographical areas of Georgia, New York, and Utah.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Credits for Rehabilitation Counseling (CRCs) will be provided to attendees who wish to receive them.
Speakers:
Bora Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design from Handong Global University, a Master of Arts in Special Education with a focus on moderate to severe disabilities, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from California State University, Los Angeles, specializing in the transition to adulthood for minority students with disabilities.
With over 15 years of experience, Bora is committed to assisting individuals with disabilities in accessing assistive technology, smart home solutions, and workplace accommodations to promote independent living. She specializes in facilitating the transition to adulthood for youth with developmental disabilities and providing support to families from diverse backgrounds.
Melinda Dolezal holds a Master’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She has been the Director of the Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities (TRAID) program at the NYS Justice Center since October 2018 and has been working in the field in 2010.
Melinda has worked at not-for-profit agencies in several regions throughout New York including Buffalo, Oneonta, and the Capital District. She has presented at conferences across the United States on topics related to assistive technology and aging, employment, accessibility, and more.
