Description:
This 90-minute virtual training is the first part of a two-session technical overview of the Fair Housing Act’s design and construction requirements.
The session explains the history and purpose of the Act’s accessibility provisions, introduces the seven technical requirements, and highlights the safe harbors and standards relied upon to demonstrate compliance. Participants will take a deeper look at the scoping and technical criteria associated with Requirements 1 and 2, with practical examples that help clarify how these provisions apply in real-world projects. Although designed with architects, builders, inspectors, and other technical professionals in mind, the material is presented in a way that supports all stakeholders seeking a clearer understanding of FHA accessibility.
During the Q&A part of the training, accessibility expert Eric Contreras will answer your questions about the Fair Housing Act, Fair Housing Act Design Manual, Safe Harbor, and other accessibility issues live.
Each attendee who attends for 45 minutes or longer will receive a certificate of attendance. Certificates are also available for passing the final quiz.
The 2:00pm – 3:30pm training session includes ASL interpreters.
