Description:
Many employers invest in basic first aid training for their staff as a form of emergency preparedness. But what happens when the health and safety crisis is emotional or internal? Mental illness and substance use disorders often go unrecognized and unaddressed in the workplace when employers and staff don’t recognize the signs or understand how to provide the basics of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). This session aims to teach attendees what MHFA is and how it prepares you to manage mental health challenges including early signs and symptoms all the way to crises like panic attack, overdose and someone’s thoughts of suicide. The workshop will provide an overview of the training, introduce the ALGEE action plan, and highlight how this training can benefit both individual staff and organizations. This workshop is NOT a replacement for MHFA certification.
To ensure your question is answered during the session, individuals are highly encouraged to submit their questions ahead of time via the registration website (the option to submit questions is available once you have registered for the session).
Human Generated Real-Time Captioning will be provided for this session.
