The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Fair Housing/Equal Opportunity will provide a virtual training on the Fair Housing Act’s Accessibility Requirements on March 21, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). This session will address the technical specifications required by the Fair Housing Act (FHA) Requirement 3 for usable doors, doorways, types of doors, and dwelling unit doors. Presenters will also discuss recommendations for compliant usable doors. Architects, designers, contractors, builders and developers, disability and housing advocates, and individuals interested in FHA are encouraged to attend, and attendees will gain practical knowledge and resources on designing compliant doors.

This Fair Housing Accessibility First event will focus on providing training for learners on Requirement 3: Usable Doors. The presentation will be 1.5 hours with the training, question and answer session, and quiz. Each attendee who attends more than 45 minutes will receive a certificate of attendance and/or certificate for passing the quiz.
