Fair Housing Act Accessibility Requirements for Kitchens

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Fair Housing/Equal Opportunity will provide a virtual training on the Fair Housing Act’s Accessibility Requirements for Kitchens on February 28, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. or 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). This session will address the dimensional specifications and clearances required by Fair Housing Act (FHA) Requirement 7 for kitchens, elements of kitchen design and construction that are subject to FHA specifications and requirements, and other FHA requirements that apply to kitchens. Presenters will also review strategies and tips for creating attractive compliant kitchens. Architects, designers, civil engineers, builders and developers, housing program specialists, property managers and owners, and disability advocates are encouraged to attend.
