Description:
Assistive technology (AT) is a key element to allow individuals with disabilities and those who are aging to maintain and improve their independence in their communities. The AT3 Center will host a webinar to explore how AT contributes to accessible transportation. Among the areas to be focused on will be:

  • The roles and activities of Assistive Technology Act Programs;
  • Accessible materials and websites for transportation options;
  • Assistive Technology for individual use and vehicle modifications;
  • AT/accessible Transportation Partnerships.

Why is this important? Assistive technology (AT) enables people to live healthy, productive, independent and dignified lives, and to participate in civic life, education, and employment and utilizing AT related to transportation is a key element in fuller community participation for all.

Registration is required. The webinar will include time for Q&A and discussion. Questions can be submitted in advance to marty.exline@ataporg.org.

ASL will be provided for the webinar. To request an accommodation, contact Jamie Anderson at jamie.anderson@ataporg.org by September 24th. We will do our best to accommodate requests submitted after September 24th, but short notice may interfere with our ability to fulfill requests that require third-party services.

Who Should Attend? Service providers, public transportation, people with disabilities, older adults, healthcare providers or plans, local government/planning agencies, caregivers and anyone wanting to learn more about assistive technology and transportation.
