Description:
Join us for a review of conflicting case decisions addressing similar ADA issues as well as cases that may depart from a common understanding of the ADA. We will discuss cases that cause a current split between Federal courts and other cases that stand alone while causing controversy or confusion. As we cross into the 34th year of the ADA, our aim is to foster better understanding of how courts interpret the various non-discrimination standards affecting employment, public accommodations, transportation, education, and public entities. We will take a closer look at some of the trending issues today — such as the job reassignment accommodation problem, whether web sites are places of public accommodation, whether a plaintiff must suffer an injury before they can file a lawsuit, and other interesting decisions that may depart from traditional understandings of the ADA.
Continuing Education Credits available: Certificate of Attendance; ACTCP: 1.5 Credits.
Speakers:
Diego Demaya JD, Legal Specialist, Southwest ADA Center at ILRU
