Description:
Join the Southwest and Great Lakes ADA Centers for a legal update on Associational Discrimination in the education and employment environments. First, we will review the ADA and Section 504 standards relating to establishing a general claim of associational discrimination. Second, we will be focusing on associational discrimination against parents of children with disabilities in the special education setting. And third, we will focus on employment-related associational discrimination against employees. We will review provisions under the ADA, Section 504, and IDEA in contrast to significant case law. Finally, we will conclude with a discussion of the anatomy of associational discrimination and what might constitute a viable claim that could survive strict court scrutiny.
Individuals will be able to submit questions for the speaker in advance during the registration process.
