In this month long celebration, we honor Latino history and culture, as well as everything the Latino community has contributed to the United States history.

Why is Hispanic Heritage Month important?

We give special recognition to the Latino community traditions, art, dedication, advocacy, and hard work that has helped shape society for generations.

How big is the Latino population in the United States?

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Latinos account for 71% of the growth of the United States population.

What is the difference between “Hispanic” and “Latino”?

“Latino” is used to describe people who have cultural or ancestral ties to Latin America or the Caribbean. “Hispanic” is used to describe people with ties to Spain or the Spanish language.
