The culmination of public education for all youth with disabilities should be productive and meaningful careers – not just for some youth, or most youth, but all youth. This 3-part webinar series will highlight key strategies to establish interagency teams, clarify roles and responsibilities, improve engagement of families and employers, and facilitate individualized work experiences in the community. Special educators and administrators, Vocational Rehabilitation counselors, employment specialists, advocates and families are encouraged to attend to learn how to apply the tenants of seamless transition and promote successful futures for people with disabilities. Participants will receive access a set of tools essential to effective implementation of meaningful work experiences.\nPart 1: Understanding the Seamless Transition Model: A Focus on Collaboration and Outcomes\nRegister for Part 2\nRegister for Part 3 ( https://transcen.yeslms.com/courses/description/fb363940-81a2-403c-195b-08da7adbc82d )\nSeamless transition occurs when the first day after school exit looks the same for youth with disabilities as their last day of school. That is, they exit school directly to integrated employment and/or postsecondary education, with supports in place.  Thus, the movement from school to employment, postsecondary education, and adult life is “seamless” because there is no interruption of service and support after leaving high school. Accomplishing this requires creating a diverse interagency team that understands their role in the process and who have high expectations for student futures.
