DESCRIPTION:When: Monday, April 25, 2022, at 11:00 am-12:00 pm, Pacific Time/2:00-3:00 pm, Eastern Time\nWebcast Host: National Center on Law & Elder Rights (NCLER)\nWebsite: ncler.acl.gov ( https://ncler.acl.gov/ )\nRegister for webcast: register.gotowebinar.com/register/3363307535491568400 ( https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/3363307535491568400 )\nWhen in need for care at home, disabled Veterans may be entitled to additional resources to help pay for home care services, such as VA [Veterans Administration] Aid and Attendance benefits and Housebound allowance. This training will provide an overview of the benefits that may be available, how to apply for them, and how they interact with Social Security benefits and Medicaid.\nThis webcast will help programs and advocates build their capacity to provide person-directed services to disabled Veterans in the areas of health and housing. Most individuals prefer to stay in their community, and understanding these benefits will provide legal assistance, aging services, and disability services professionals with information needed to promote options to age in place.\nPresenter: Hagar Dickman, Senior Staff Attorney, Justice in Aging\nClosed captioning will be available on this webcast. A link with access to the captions will be shared through GoToWebinar’s chat box shortly before the webcast start time.\nThis training will be presented in a WEBCAST format to accommodate more participants.
