SUMMARY:The Intersection of Race and Disability
DESCRIPTION:ADA Audio Webinar Series\nTuesday, February 15, 2022\n2:00 PM – 3:30 PM, Eastern Time\nSponsored by Great Lakes ADA Center and ADA National Network (ADANN)\nIf you have questions, contact Great Lakes ADA Center: 1-877-232-1990 (Voice/TTY) or email webinars@accessibilityonline.org ( mailto:webinars@accessibilityonline.org )\nDescription: The lived experience of disability varies, both among people with disabilities and among racial and ethnic groups. Dr. Kimberle Crenshaw coined the term “Intersectionality” to describe the experience of living with multiple identities (gender, race, culture, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, etc.). While there has been conversation about some intersections (like race and gender) there have been other experiences that are often overlooked. This session will look at the experience of people of color who have disabilities. Participants will have an opportunity to ask the speaker questions following the presentation.\nRegister for the webinar at https://www.accessibilityonline.org/ADA-Audio/session/?id=110966\nQuestions are encouraged in advance. Individuals can submit questions at the time of registration.\nContinuing Education Credits available: Certificate of Attendance; ACTCP: 1.5 Credits.\n
