However, lack of tools, training and an understanding of these disabilities often results in worse health outcomes, particularly in emergency or crisis situations.\nIn this webinar, Justin Severs (Carter Kits co-founder and father of Carter) along with Andie (Training & Grants Manager and Pediatric Champion) will share the history and mission of Carter Kits sensory bags along with helpful information on how to access these sensory bags to support first responders, medical teams and other community partners who may interact with individuals on the spectrum or who are neurodivergent. Carter Kits sensory bags are designed for use in emergency or crisis situations, to ensure professionals have tools and training to more appropriately communicate with and care for neurodivergent individuals. The items are clinically proven to assist those who are neurodivergent and promote improved communication and de-escalation. The mission of Carter Kits and the EMS for Children Program align to improve readiness to care for all children, especially the most vulnerable, to improve outcomes and decrease morbidity and mortality in emergency encounters.
