The Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA) was signed into law on September 25, 2008. Congress made it clear that "disability" is to be construed broadly and that the focus should not be on the disabling condition but rather on reasonable accommodations to allow a person to work.
This presentation will discuss State Farm Human Resources (HR) ADA compliance efforts on the reasonable accommodation process under the ADA. The presentation will cover how State Farm has set up and conducts their accommodation process and statistics and trends within their HR department. Additionally, the presentation will discuss some of the benefits and challenges they have encountered during the accommodation process. The presentation will end with an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
