Recruiting and hiring qualified employees with disabilities require a multi-faceted strategy. To be most effective, employers and federal contractors should become familiar with resources both at the national and local levels. This webinar will highlight the Vocational Rehabilitation Program as an important resource listed in the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) proposed revised regulations of Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended and released on December 9, 2011.

Presenters will describe how an HR professional may establish on-going relationships and linkages to facilitate the recruitment and hiring of candidates with disabilities. As well as, provide information on the The National Employment Team (NET), which is sponsored by the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR). The VR programs serve one million people with disabilities per year and include 80 agencies that can be found in every state, territory and D.C. The NET was built with business partners who continue to provide input and includes easy to access point of contacts or Business Consultants within each VR agency. Additionally, the NET partners with the Veterans Administration and the American Indian VR programs.
