December 14, 2020
Source: Administration for Community Living (ACL)
The Administration for Community Living (ACL) released the Annual Report on Centers for Independent Living for Program Year 2019 (PDF, 13 pages). Centers for Independent Living, or CILs, offer services and support for individuals with disabilities who want to live independently in their communities. The CIL program at ACL provides financial assistance to local CILs and other community-based organizations. This report reflects the more than 200,000 individuals who benefited from community-based services across the country in 2019. Highlights of the report include more than 1 million services provided and more than 172,000 consumer goals accomplished; each individual goal increasing independence, integration, and full inclusion of CIL consumers in society. The report covers data and activities between September 30, 2018 and September 29, 2019.
